What is withsonder?
withsonder is a UK-built AI companion app for study and wellbeing, for ages 13 and over. You choose from six companions who stay the same person from day to day. It is not therapy, not a crisis line and not an essay writer.
Is withsonder safe for teenagers?
It is designed with safety first: ages 13 and over only, clean language, no sexual or violent content, daily message limits, automated safety checks and UK crisis resources. It is not a replacement for professional care or emergency services. Parents can read more on the parents page.
How do I get withsonder and what does it cost?
Create a free account on the website or download the iPhone app, and start a 14-day free trial; no payment details are needed to begin. It's the same account in both places: log in with the same email and password. After the trial, Premium is a subscription you can buy on the website (£12.99 a month or £99.99 a year, UK only) or in the iPhone app. withsonder is currently available in the UK, for ages 13 and over.
Will withsonder write my homework?
No. The companions are built to teach: they ask questions, give hints and check understanding. They are designed not to write finished essays or coursework.
Is my chat private?
Conversations are private to your account. We don't sell data or show advertising. The main exception is safety: if our automated checks detect serious risk, a safeguarding event is logged for review. See the privacy and safeguarding pages.
Is withsonder available outside the UK?
Not yet. withsonder is currently for people in the UK, because its safety information and support lines are UK-specific. We will add other countries one at a time.
Can my school use withsonder?
Yes. We work with schools through pilots. Read the school information pack, or register your school's interest on the schools page.
What if someone is in crisis?
withsonder is company, not therapy or a crisis line. If you are in danger, call 999. Samaritans are on 116 123, Childline on 0800 1111 (under 19s), and you can text SHOUT to 85258.
