Terms of Service.
These terms are written to be readable, not to confuse you. If anything is unclear, email us and we will explain it plainly.
1. Who We Are
withsonder is operated by withsonder (withsonder.ai). Contact: hello@withsonder.ai. These terms govern the website, mobile apps, and related services (including any Telegram bot).
2. Eligibility
- You must be at least 13 years old to create an account and use Sonder
- If you are 13–17, please use Sonder with a parent or carer’s knowledge where possible
- We do not knowingly offer accounts to children under 13
3. What Sonder Is — and Isn't
withsonder is an AI companion for learning support, conversation, and everyday emotional support. It is not a medical service, therapy service, crisis line, professional tutoring service, or essay-writing / homework-cheating tool. Crisis resources in the app are signposts only.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to submit coursework as your own work, attempt to bypass safety filters, share your account, use Sonder unlawfully, or attempt to reverse-engineer the AI system. Violations may result in immediate account termination without refund.
5. Subscription and Payment
- Accounts: you can create an account in the iPhone app (currently UK only) or on the website, and the same account works in both. Premium can be bought in the iPhone app or on the website.
- Free trial: 14 days after signup with limited daily messages (currently 25/day) and limited file uploads (currently 3/day); no payment details are needed to start
- Premium monthly: £12.99 per month on the website, £14.99 per month in the iPhone app (the App Store price includes VAT)
- Premium yearly: £99.99 per year on the website, £119.99 per year in the iPhone app
- Premium unlocks higher daily message limits (currently 50/day), all companions, and higher daily upload limits (currently 10/day)
- Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled; cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period
- Website: payments via Stripe (we do not store full card numbers)
- iOS / Android apps: Premium is purchased through Apple App Store or Google Play In-App Purchase; their payment terms and refund rules apply
6. Refunds
Full refund within 14 days of first paid charge. After 14 days, refunds at our discretion. Contact hello@withsonder.ai.
7. Safeguarding Disclosures
By using Sonder, you acknowledge that if our system detects a serious safeguarding concern, we may notify your trusted adult or emergency services. Full details in our Safeguarding Policy.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by UK law, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid in the last 12 months. We are not responsible for academic decisions made based on Sonder's responses.
9. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
