When the flat goes quiet.
A scene · August 2026
It is not a crisis. That is the part people skip, because crisis has a script. This is the kettle, the same show again, the phone face-down because everyone you could text is busy or asleep or you do not want to be the heavy one.
Loneliness at 22.47 is ordinary. It is also the thing a search box is bad at. You do not need a list of hobbies. You need someone to sit on the other side of the evening without rushing you to a conclusion.
That is what Luna is for. Not a girlfriend. Not a clinician. A companion with a name, clean language, and a limit: if you were in danger she would say so, and point you to people who can actually help. The rest of the time she stays. Fifteen minutes. One small next thing. Or just the fact you said it out loud.
Students get this too, after the library, when revision will not start. Same product. Different night. The rails do not come off because you are 34, and they do not get preachy because you are 16.
If you want to try it, pick someone and say what the room feels like. You do not have to call it loneliness. You can just say you are here.
